First, I have a quick story about the tWINs game tonight..my friend Nick had tickets to tonights game and asked if I wanted to go. (Is the answer to that EVER no?! haha) He had great seats--14 rows up straight from the tWINs bullpen! sweet life! Anywho, there was a cotton candy vender in our section that night that made me laugh constantly...every time someone would ask for a cotton candy, if he gave them a pink one, he would toss it and yell "It's a girl!" and if he gave them a blue one, he would yell "It's a boy!" Probably not as funny just hearing it from me...but actually being there and seeing it was hilarious!
Onto Padre Ramblings...this one's a doozy...
So, padre knows I am at the tWINs game, right? Top of the 9th, Joe Nathan has one more out to get before the game is over...BEFORE he gets that last out, the following conversation ensues via text message...
padre: twins win twins win twins win....
me: the games not over buddy...
padre: yeah I just watched it
(in the interim, Nathan DOES indeed get the final out)
me: NOW the twins win
padre: you must have had the time delay
me: I'm AT the game!
padre: i know...
me: ...so i couldn't have a time delay
padre: must have since i knew they won before you did...unless i'm really a psychic (although he spelled that "pshic"...i'm assuming he meant psychic, although one never knows with him)
me: whatever old man

BASEBALL!!
If you can't tell from my new blog layout, I'm pretty pumped that baseball season is here!
Just a few notes...
Just a few notes...
- I was a little concerned about the signing of Joe Crede. I mean he's got a decent glove and the kid can bat....when he's healthy. That, of course, being the key phrase...when he's healthy. Not to mention, he came from the White Sox. Almost as bad as coming from the Yankees. Almost. But I decided to give him a chance because he's not your typical White Sox player; he's actually a nice guy (AJP anyone??) and he could really help us out if he stays injury-free. Thus far, he's been a great addition...let's hope he keeps it up.
- The Franchise--Liriano's had a rough go of it the past couple seasons but if he's on par this season, he could stack up there with Johan Santana! (who I still miss if anyone's counting...)
- Starting rotation--youngest in the majors! At 27, Scott Baker is the 'veteran' of our starting pitchers...but they've all proven themselves in the past and honestly, if they all have good seasons in the same season, we could do really great!
- Matt Tolbert. Now, most people don't agree with me on this and that's okay...but I think Tolbert is one heckuva player (and no, not just because he's cute!) I mean, during spring training it was him, Buscher, and Harris all contending for the final two spots...and, had the Twins not gone for 12 pitchers, Tolbert would have made the cut. Provided our starting rotation does well and can pitch well into the game, Gardy may end up cutting back to the normal 11-pitchers and call Tolbert back up. Let's hope so!

tWINsfest excitement!
Believe it or not, considering how HUGE of a tWINs fan I am, I've never really been that interested in Twinsfest. I know, I know...unbelievable right?! I love me some tWINs! But it's just never something I've really been dying to go to...it seemed fun enough--but really, I'm not the type of girl who's going to pay anywhere from $5-$50 for an autograph from a player. Especially since you have to pay to get in anyways--and I know it's for a good cause but I just couldn't really justify spending that much.
Anyways, cue to the point of this post. My dad and his friend Carl were going to Twinsfest today--Carl's brother sells baseball cards and he always gets free tickets so they figured they would go since it was free. Dad asks me at 11 if I want to go..."oh but Carl will be here at 11:30"...so I decided to pass since I wouldn't have time to shower or get ready. Then Carl shows up and basically forces me to go ("just put on a hat"...yeah, because a hat fixes everything! haha). Now, I will admit, it was much more fun than I thought it would be...but it's also not something I would do every year. It's kind of like the "once you do it, you don't need to do it again" thing--unless of course, you're going to specifically get someone's autograph.
I will forever be happy that I went today though because---dun dun dun!---when Dad and I were waiting upstairs for Carl, JOE MAUER, JUSTIN MORNEAU, CARLOS GOMEZ, and JESSE CRAIN walked by us! And I'm not talking 'just walked by us'. They were literally like a foot away from us. As in, if I had reached my arm out, I would have touched them. I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing while they walked by! And let me tell you, #7 sure was lookin pretty good! Gomez wasn't looking too bad himself--although he had his head shaved and I like him better with long hair! Anyways, just wanted to share my freak out of the day....I was sooo excited! That alone made the whole trip worth it!

Busy Sunday!
Ok...I feel like I'm posting all the time now! Anyways...Sunday was the annual ALS kickoff at the Dome...they always have a lunch and a little shindig before the game...and it's always a good time! This year it was kind of lonely...no huge family! Instead it was Stef, Greg, Cole, Jeff's parents Sue and Herb, and me. We were missing Dad who was down in Rochester, Anne who was in the Dominican Republic on a missions trip, and of course Christie and Jeff who were in the hospital with baby Kennedy! We still had fun even though we were a small group this year!
After the game, Stef and I went down to the hospital to spend some time with Christie, Jeff, and Kennedy...Jeff went out to run some errands and pick up some baby stuff, so we had some time for just us sisters and that was lots of fun! Here's some pics from the weekend!

Cole was VERY into clapping for the twins...this picture was when the starting players were getting announced....Cole was a great fan and cheered for every one!

Of course the game was right during Cole's regular naptime...but he was such a trooper! He napped on Stef for about 40 minutes and was super good the rest of the time!

After awhile, she passed out for a good hour or so...and once daddy came back with those gas drops, she was golden!

she had her eyes open and was having a full conversation with auntie stef at the end of the night!

ok call me lame but i think this picture is REALLY cool!!
Elf anyone? I know Christie loves that movie as much as I do so she'll get it... :)

Here he is sleeping on his momma...she's covering his ears but even after she stopped, he slept through all the noises and cheers!
Next, it was off to visit Kennedy. Stef and I stayed for a few hours and gave mommy and daddy lasch a helping hand when Kennedy wanted to make her presence known :) I prefer to think of it as her just wanting to hang out with her aunties!

bobby korecky made my night
So...no updates right? Mostly I don't post updates at the moment because it makes me depressed to repeatedly write "No news on the job front yet...." So I just kind of have been avoiding writing it...as soon as I think SOMETHING might work out, it just doesn't so it's easier to not say anything to anyone than to field questions about this and that.
Luckily for me, I'll be living with one of my best friends shortly (come on job!) and we both have such great senses of humor (modest I know) that we can joke about our situations at the moment...this is a convo I had with Gina earlier tonight:
lemonielynn: today, i sat in rugs for 45 minutes and searched the internet on my phone
The0riginal11: hahaha
lemonielynn: seriously
lemonielynn: didn't move a muscle for 45 minutes
lemonielynn: this was right after my half hour break that was really about 45 minutes
The0riginal11: haha...nice work
The0riginal11: i reorganized the cigarettes
lemonielynn: lol
The0riginal11: that's how bored i was
lemonielynn: i reorganized toilet seats the other day....i was THISCLOSE to texting you and saying "look what a (almost) college degree can get you"
The0riginal11: hey, i have my degree...i was playing with cigarettes all day
I hope you're laughing...
And lastly, the tWINs game just got over and they pulled it off! We may have used every single one of our bench players and all but one of our pitchers (who, just so happened, to be in the on deck circle when the game winning hit took place) but we managed a win in the 12th inning! Kudos to Howie Clark (who? you ask....yeah, just called up from the minors for the ridiculously pathetic Punto and also to help out in the ridiculously handsome Tolbert's place while he's out)...anyway, Clark got the game-winning hit so that was awesome. But can you hold it against me if I wish Korecky had scored the game winner? Come on, think about it...an AMERICAN LEAGUE pitcher (who has been in the majors for about a second this season) has to bat in extra innings because we have no other pinch hitters....on the FIRST pitch, he rifles a hit to right field...that screams amazing! Eh, oh well...at least we got the W right?!
Now if we can only get Tolbert back.... ;)
